Team

Knowledgable, passionate, committed, humble

We believe that engaging early before you are seeking funding is a valuable part of the relationship-building process.

It minimizes pressure on both sides and enables a more fluid interaction focusing on what’s most important - you and your venture. And since our investment focus is so well-defined, we hope it is easy for you to determine whether meeting with us will be valuable. We are always happy to have coffee with founders at any stage and learn about their journeys while sharing our experiences, insights, and knowledge in the process.

Our team provides leadership, operational, and financial experience to founders, contributing a mindful view on growth to help teams execute to their fullest potential.

  • Financings

  • Financial management

We aspire to improve health through Canadian-led innovation.

Innovation is built upon a founder’s vision of how to make the world a better place by solving a really big problem. Building alignment around that vision is critical to a new venture’s success. Identifying a funding partner who believes in your vision as strongly as you do and can help you achieve it is one of the most impactful decisions in your entrepreneurial journey. Raising dilutive capital from external investors will mark the beginning of a long-term relationship that can last more than a decade. In our experiences, company building is not all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows. Startup journeys are filled with challenges, setbacks, and struggles. Finding the right investor who is going to support you through good times and bad is crucial.

Nimbus Synergies is a member of the Discovery Parks group of companies.

By investing Discovery Parks’ assets in startups focused on the intersection between life sciences and technology, Nimbus aims to improve health through Canadian-led innovation.

Since 1979, Discovery Parks has been on a mission to see technology become the most productive, economically important and socially relevant industry in British Columbia. Through its unique for-profit model, originally specializing in commercial real estate and now focusing on investment, all of the profits gained by Discovery Parks go directly back into the tech industry — either via Nimbus Synergies and further investment in BC-based technology or through the Discovery Foundation and its programs educating entrepreneurs and mentoring businesses. Discovery Parks has provided homes to over 250 companies, housed in 16 buildings, developed in 8 locations while also transferring over $21 million dollars back into BC’s Innovation Community.
